Tissai Joins the Metronome Chicago Celebration!

Bring on the Chicago summer festivals!  Free this Saturday or Sunday?!?  Come out and enjoy the weekend with us at the 2nd Annual Metronome Chicago Celebration, on Milwaukee at Armitage and Western.  Check out food and drinks from local restaurants, local bands, green vendors, arts, crafts, jewelry, and yours truly Tissai candles.  Tissai will be located at Booth #16, North Central area near Maplewood Street.  Stop by and say hi!

The Metronome Celebration will benefit the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition, which will distribute proceeds across all parts of the community through the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association, the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Goethe School, Chase Elementary, and a Sustainable Project Award that will help provide a more sustainable life for area residents.  Good fun for a good cause!

Earth Day Benefit: Earth, Wine and Fire!

Not too long ago I was approached by a friend and was asked if I was interested in becoming a co-organizer and sponsor for an Earth Day charity event.  It was perfect timing because I always wanted to do something environmental related but I just didn’t know where to go or where to start.  If you find yourself in the same situation as me, attending the Earth, Wine and Fire Earth Day Benefit event is the perfect way to start!  This is a charity event that intends to educate, incite action, and have fun along the way.

All proceeds will be donated to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and the Center for Neighborhood Technology, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the environment through urban sustainability.  In line with this, Tissai pledges to donate a portion of its sales during the event.

There will be speakers from local non-profit organizations, green vendors, a film showing of No Impact Man, an art exhibit by Graffiti Zone, salsa performances from the Latin Street Dance Company, a silent auction, and a local DJ for the after party.  Tickets are available online!  Your donations also includes drinks, appetizers, and full access to the Nature Museum exhibits.

You can also bring your kids! There will be Earth Day activities and tours to visit the butterfly haven, birds of Chicago, and other exhibits.  The kids activities will start as early as 5pm! Admission is FREE for children under 12, so bring the whole family!

The best part of the event aside from a fun filled evening while raising environmental awareness, is the fact that we are all contributing to the community!

Girls Night Out!!!

Girls! Girls! Girls!  The weather is getting nicer, spring is here, and summer is right around the corner!  So the question is, are you ready to go out and enjoy the season?!?  Chandler’s Banquet is hosting its Girls Night Out where you can find a lot of great deals on clothes, accessories, fashion bags, cosmetics, Tissai candles, and a lot more!  Then when you get tired of shopping and want to relax, nail salons and spas will be there to pamper those tired hands and feet!  With music and hors d’oeuvres to complement your shopping experience…now that’s what I call a Girl’s Night Out!

This is the first time Tissai will be involved, yet I’ve heard so many positive reviews and went to the last one myself and it will definitely be worthwhile!  I’m looking forward to doing some shopping of my own ;)

There will also be a lot of fabulous raffle prizes up for grabs including Tissai candles!!!  Admission is FREE so you don’t have to worry about it!  All you have to do is invite your girlfriends and enjoy the night with us!

Tissai Hearts Parc Boutique!

Ladies! Ladies! …and Men too!  If you’re planning a trip to visit the Twin Cities, make sure to stop by Parc Boutique!  It is a posh boutique for women and men, with great selection of styles from different fab fashion labels and local designers.

Parc Boutique was the very first boutique where Tissai candles were sold.  It was only for the holiday season but we were happy to have our presence in Minneapolis even if it was only for a short period of time.

Enough about business, let me share the fun part of the trip when we were out there… shopping!!!!!  I found a very gorgeous high waist dress, sheer sleeves, great color combination of ivory and grey, and it fit so perfectly.  Check out my blog’s About Me page to see it!  My husband got a dark heather grey zip up hoodie that is great for layering.  They have wonderful styles to choose from! (trust me!)

The shopping experience was awesome, the interior of the store is so beautiful and gives you that comfy feeling.  They have the cutest fixtures, the cabinet closet which makes you feel like you are just going through your own closet, and they also have pretty jewelry boxes to hold all their awesome and stylish local designers’ jewelry.

Speaking of upcoming events, Parc Boutique is hosting their first Local Jewelry Designer Spring Trunk Show.  They will be featuring six local jewelry designers: Candied Yams, Helen Wang Jewelry, Kim-Anh Tong Jewelry, Liebling Designs, M. Bridget Designs, and Twilight Soaps & Gifts. For sure this is going to be fun and exciting!!!
